Penta Dragon is one of those weird little Game Boy RPGs that somehow slipped under the radar back in the day. You start off picking between these oddly specific character classes—I went with the "Flame Dancer" because, well, fire attacks are cool, right? Turns out the early-game enemies absolutely wreck you if you don't grind a bit first.

The pixel art has that classic chunky Game Boy charm, especially the dragon designs (there are exactly five, hence the name—no surprises there). The overworld music is this weirdly catchy chiptune loop that’ll either get stuck in your head or drive you nuts after two hours.

It’s got that old-school jank where some puzzles feel borderline unfair until you realize the solution was staring you in the face the whole time. Bring extra AA batteries if you’re playing on original hardware—this one’s a time sink.
