Penny Racers on N64 is this weird little gem where you trick out tiny toy cars and race them on wild tracks. At first glance it seems like a simple racer, but then you realize you can tweak everything from engine tuning to tire grip—some combos work way better than others, and half the fun is figuring that out.
The tracks have these ridiculous loops and jumps that feel straight out of a Hot Wheels set, and the power-ups are just chaotic enough to keep races unpredictable. I remember spending way too long in the garage trying to build the perfect car, only to wipe out on the first turn because I forgot to balance speed with handling.
It’s janky in that classic N64 way, but if you’re into customization-heavy racers with personality, this one’s got charm to spare.
