Penguin Land is one of those Game Boy puzzlers that looks simple at first—just guide a little penguin through icy caves—but man, those later levels get brutal. You start by pushing blocks to clear paths, dodging falling icicles, and trying not to get your penguin stuck in a dead end (which I did way too often). The controls are a bit stiff, but once you get used to them, it’s weirdly satisfying to nudge everything into place.

The music’s got that classic chiptune charm, and the penguin’s waddle animation never gets old. Some of the later puzzles had me scratching my head for way too long, especially when seals or moving platforms get thrown into the mix. It’s the kind of game where you’ll fail a level ten times, then suddenly everything clicks and you feel like a genius. If you’re into retro puzzle games with a side of frustration, this one’s a solid pick.
