Parodius Da! on the Game Boy is this weird, hilarious little shooter where nothing makes sense—and that’s the point. You’re dodging giant sushi rolls, shooting at penguins in sombreros, and flying a chubby octopus ship that looks like it’s had one too many snacks. The controls are tight for a Game Boy shooter, though the screen’s a bit cramped when things get chaotic.
It’s a stripped-down version of the arcade original, but still packed with that same surreal Konami charm. The music’s got those bouncy, offbeat tunes you’d expect, and somehow, getting hit by a flying hamburger never stops being funny. If you’re into retro shooters with a side of absurdity, this one’s a solid time-killer.
