Panel no Ninja Kesamaru is one of those weird little Game Boy puzzle games that somehow sticks with you. You play as this tiny ninja hopping around a grid, flipping panels to match colors while dodging enemies—kinda like a mix of Minesweeper and Pac-Man if they had a baby in feudal Japan.
At first, it feels simple—just tap panels to reveal what’s underneath—but then the enemies start swarming, and suddenly you’re sweating over whether to risk flipping that last tile or making a run for it. The music’s got that classic Game Boy charm, all bleepy and frantic when things get tense. I lost way too much time to this as a kid.
It’s not the deepest puzzle game out there, but there’s something satisfying about clearing a stage with seconds to spare. If you dig retro puzzlers with a side of ninja nonsense, give it a shot.
