About Palamedes
Palamedes came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, published by Taito. It was one of many puzzle games on the platform, a straightforward concept built around dice.
You control a cursor at the bottom of the screen, selecting from a row of dice you hold. The main goal is to clear the dice scrolling down from the top by matching their numbers. You press the B button to cycle through the numbers on your held die, then hit A to throw it when it matches a target. Clearing one die often causes a chain reaction, removing other connected dice of the same number. The game starts calmly but the scrolling speed increases, demanding quicker decisions. It feels like a race against a steadily descending wall of numbers.
