About Palamedes (japan)
Palamedes came out in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Hot B. It was part of that wave of puzzle games on the NES that tried something a little different from the usual falling block format.
You control a cursor at the bottom of the screen, selecting from a row of dice. The main goal is to clear the screen of all target numbers by matching your dice rolls to them. The key mechanics involve rolling your dice to get the numbers you need and then strategically clearing targets, which often causes the remaining ones to drop down and change the board state. The game starts calmly but the pace picks up quickly, demanding fast decisions as the targets pile up. It feels like a tense, numerical race against a steadily descending wall.
