So, The Pagemaster on Game Boy—yeah, it's based on that weird '90s movie with Macaulay Culkin running through a living library. The game's a side-scroller where you play as this kid dodging book-themed enemies, swinging on ropes, and collecting pages (because of course you are).
First thing you notice? The colors are surprisingly decent for a Game Boy title—lots of blues and greens to make the levels pop. Controls are a little stiff, though. Jumping feels like you're fighting gravity, and some of the platforming bits are just mean. But hey, that’s classic Game Boy for you.
Weirdly, the adventure sections switch to this top-down view where you solve puzzles, which breaks up the action nicely. Not gonna lie, the shift in perspective threw me off at first, but it keeps things from getting too repetitive. If you’re into retro platformers with a side of nostalgia, this one’s a decent time-waster.
