Okay, so Pachio Kun is this weird little Game Boy game that somehow mixes platforming with casino minigames—and it shouldn’t work, but it totally does. You’re this round little dude hopping between levels, dodging enemies that look like they escaped from a fever dream, and then suddenly you’re rolling slots or playing poker between jumps. The controls are simple, but some of those later platforming sections get surprisingly tricky.
The casino bits are where it gets fun—winning gives you extra lives or power-ups, but lose too much and you’re back to grinding jumps with your default moves. The music’s got that classic Game Boy bleep-bloop charm, and the whole thing just oozes early '90s weirdness. If you’ve got a soft spot for obscure retro games that don’t take themselves too seriously, this one’s a blast.
Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one slot machine for way too long.
