Pachio-kun 2 is one of those weird, charming Game Boy games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s a solid little pachinko sim with way more personality than you’d expect. The tables are bright and noisy, the ball physics actually feel decent (for a Game Boy game, anyway), and there’s this weirdly satisfying clatter when you hit a jackpot.
First time I booted it up, I thought it’d just be a basic digital pachinko machine, but there’s a surprising amount of strategy in lining up shots and nudging the table just right. The music’s got that classic Game Boy chiptune energy too—catchy in a slightly grating way after an hour, but in a good nostalgic kind of way.
If you’re into retro oddities or just want something mindless to zone out with, this one’s worth a spin. Just don’t expect an English translation—most of the menus are guesswork, but honestly, that’s half the fun.
