Okay, so Pac-in-Time on Game Boy is weird in the best way—it takes the classic dot-munching formula and throws Pac-Man into a side-scrolling platformer with time travel. You start off in medieval times, jumping over pits and dodging knights (who are basically just ghosts in armor), and suddenly you're warped to ancient Egypt or the Wild West. The time jumps keep it from feeling like just another Pac-Man reskin.

At first, I thought the controls would be clunky—Pac-Man isn’t exactly known for his jumping skills—but it actually works. You still collect pellets, but now you’re bouncing on trampolines, flipping switches, and avoiding weird era-specific enemies. The music’s got that classic Game Boy charm, and some of the later levels get surprisingly tough. If you’ve ever wanted to see Pac-Man face off against a pharaoh’s curse, this is your game.

It’s not perfect (the hit detection can be a little janky), but it’s way more creative than it had any right to be. Definitely one of the weirder spin-offs that somehow sticks the landing.
