About P.o.w. - Prisoners Of War
P.O.W. - Prisoners of War came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by SNK. It was part of that wave of side-scrolling action games that filled the NES library, offering a straightforward military escape premise without much fuss.
You control a captured soldier fighting your way out of an enemy camp. Your main goal is to punch and kick through waves of guards across several jungle and prison stages. You can pick up weapons like knives and machine guns dropped by enemies, which give you a much-needed advantage. The game progresses screen by screen; you must clear all enemies in one area before moving to the next. It is known for its brisk pace and considerable difficulty, with enemy attacks coming quickly.
