I picked up Olympic Summer Games for the original Game Boy back when it was new. It was published by Ubi Soft, one of the many sports titles that tried to capture the event on Nintendo's handheld. This was during a time when simple, portable versions of bigger console games were common, and this fit right in with that idea.

You control an athlete competing across several events like the 100 meter dash, javelin, and swimming. The main goal is to win medals by outperforming the computer opponents in each discipline. The controls are straightforward; for running you mash the A button repeatedly to build speed, and for field events you often time a button press for power and another for the release angle. The game moves quickly from one event to the next, and some, like the running, can feel quite difficult to master because of the rapid button pressing required. It feels like a quick, challenging test of your timing and thumb endurance.
