About Noobow
I first found Noobow on the Game Boy in 1992, a puzzle platformer from Irem that came out when developers were really figuring out what the handheld could do. It was part of that wave of games that felt experimental, trying to build a world within the system's limitations without just copying what worked on the NES.
You control a little round robot named Noobow, and your goal is to guide him through each stage to find the exit. The main thing you do is push blocks; you can shove them left or right to create paths, build stairs, or sometimes trigger switches. The levels are single-screen puzzles, so you're always thinking about the whole layout at once. It starts simple, but the difficulty ramps up quickly as they introduce new block types and more complex arrangements. Playing it feels like slowly untangling a knot with your hands.
