Nobunaga No Yabou on Game Boy is one of those deep, old-school strategy games where you actually have to think—no mindless button mashing here. You start off picking a clan (I went with Oda Nobunaga first, because, well, he’s the legend), and suddenly you’re knee-deep in managing troops, negotiating with rival warlords, and trying not to get backstabbed by your so-called allies.
The battles are simple on the surface—move units, clash swords—but there’s a surprising amount of depth. Do you rush in with cavalry, or play it safe with archers? And good luck keeping your economy from collapsing while you’re at it. The politics are just as brutal as the fights—one wrong move, and your best general defects to the enemy.
It’s not flashy by today’s standards, but if you’re into historical strategy, this one’s a solid time sink. Just don’t expect the AI to go easy on you.
