About Ninku Dai 2
Ninku Dai 2 came out for the Game Boy in 1995, developed by Yutaka. It was part of that wave of licensed games based on anime properties, a common sight on the handheld at the time. You would see it in the plastic cases at rental stores, another adventure to try over a weekend.
You control Fuusuke, a young boy with the Ninku martial arts, navigating a world from an overhead perspective. The main goal is to advance through stages, fighting enemy soldiers and solving environmental puzzles. Your primary actions involve shooting wind blades from your fists to defeat foes at a distance and using a short-range spin attack for closer threats. You explore screen by screen, often needing to find keys or hit switches to unlock the path forward. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and some enemy placements can make it quite challenging. It feels like a methodical test of your timing and positioning as you clear each area.
