Ninja Jajamaru Kun is one of those classic NES games that never left Japan back in the day—until the Wii Virtual Console finally brought it overseas. You play as this tiny blue ninja hopping across rooftops, dodging enemies, and tossing shurikens like they're going out of style. The controls are simple but weirdly satisfying once you get the timing down.
First thing you'll notice? The music. It's got that old-school charm, the kind that sticks in your head after you turn the game off. The levels are short but packed with little traps and jumps that keep you on your toes. And yeah, some of the enemy patterns feel straight-up unfair at first, but that’s part of the fun—figuring out how to cheese your way past them.
If you’re into retro platformers with a ninja twist, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on that one jump in level 3.
