About Ninja Gaiden 3
Ninja Gaiden 3 came out for the NES in 1991, developed and published by Tecmo. It was the third and final chapter in the series on that console, arriving at a time when players were accustomed to demanding action games with detailed cutscenes.
You control Ryu Hayabusa, a ninja on a mission to clear his name after being framed for murder. Your main objective is to fight through side scrolling stages, defeating robotic soldiers and monstrous creatures across global locations. Signature mechanics include using your Dragon Sword for close combat and a limited supply of shurikens for ranged attacks; you also perform a clinging jump to scale certain walls. The pacing is relentless, with respawning enemies and limited continues making the journey particularly difficult. Navigating the precise platforming and aggressive enemy patterns creates a tense, focused experience from start to finish.
