New York Nyankies (japan) Game

New York Nyankies is one of those weird, charming NES games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it's basically a cat-themed Bomberman clone with way more personality than it has any right to have. You play as a gang of street cats (because of course) dropping bombs to clear obstacles and take out rival feline gangs. The sprites are tiny but full of attitude, and the levels get surprisingly tricky once the enemy cats start swarming.
At first I thought it was just a cutesy reskin, but there's some legit strategy here—timing your explosions to chain reactions feels great, and some power-ups actually change how you approach the maze. Also, the music is an absolute earworm in that classic 8-bit way. If you dig old-school arcade-style chaos with a side of feline mischief, this one's a hidden gem.
