Nettou Garou 2 is one of those Game Boy fighters that somehow feels way bigger than it has any right to. You pick from a roster of SNK’s Garou Densetsu characters—Terry Bogard’s there, obviously—and the sprites are shockingly detailed for a tiny screen. The controls are tight, though pulling off special moves takes some practice (good luck nailing that Power Geyser at first).

Matches are fast, and the AI doesn’t mess around even on normal difficulty. I remember getting wrecked by Ryo’s fireball spam until I figured out the timing. It’s got that classic arcade feel where you lose a round, slam the buttons harder, and suddenly it’s 2 AM. If you’ve got a soft spot for 90s fighters or just want to see how much punch the Game Boy could pack, this one’s still a blast.
