About Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu (japan)
Nekketsu Koukou Dodgeball Bu came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed by Technos Japan Corp. It was part of that wave of NES games that took simple concepts and pushed them into wild, competitive territory. This one took the schoolyard game of dodgeball and turned it into a full contact sport.
You control a team of high school students, moving your players around a single screen court. The main goal is straightforward: eliminate the entire opposing team by hitting them with the ball. Your character can perform a basic throw, but the real strategy comes from the special moves. You can charge up a super shot that flies faster and hits harder, and you can also jump to catch incoming throws, turning defense into a quick counterattack. The pacing is frantic; matches are short bursts of chaos where a single powerful throw can knock out multiple players at once. It feels like controlling a playground brawl where the rules are just a suggestion.
