Navy Blue (japan) Game

Navy Blue on the NES is one of those obscure Japanese titles that never made it overseas—which is a shame, because it’s a solid little naval strategy game. You start off picking your fleet, balancing destroyers, submarines, and carriers, then jump straight into grid-based battles where positioning and timing matter way more than you’d expect.
The pixel-art waves and chunky ship sprites give it that classic NES charm, though the menus are all in Japanese. Took me a few tries to figure out which button confirmed my moves, but once it clicks, there’s a surprising amount of depth here. Not quite Advance Wars at sea, but close enough to sink an hour or two into.
If you’re into retro strategy games, this one’s a hidden gem worth digging up.
