Namco Gallery Vol.1 is one of those weird little Game Boy compilations that feels like a time capsule. It’s got a handful of classic Namco arcade ports—Galaga, Pac-Man, Dig Dug—but they’re all crammed into this chunky, monochrome handheld format. The controls take some getting used to (good luck nailing those tight turns in Pac-Man), but there’s something charming about playing these arcade giants on a tiny screen.
Weirdly, the Japan-only release also throws in a couple of oddball extras, like a puzzle mode for Galaga. Not essential, but fun if you’re a Namco completist. Definitely a nostalgia trip, though I wouldn’t blame you for sticking with the arcade originals.
