Nagano Winter Olympics '98 is one of those N64 sports games that actually holds up surprisingly well. You’ve got all the classic winter events—ski jumping, bobsled, even curling if you’re into that—and the controls are simple enough that you can just pick it up and play without memorizing a bunch of button combos. The ski jump in particular feels great once you get the timing down for that perfect launch.
Graphics are bright and cartoony, not super realistic, but it fits the arcade-style gameplay. Bobsled races get chaotic with four players, especially when someone wipes out and takes the whole team with them. It’s not the deepest sports sim out there, but for quick multiplayer rounds or just messing around with events, it’s a solid choice. Definitely better with friends, though—the AI opponents aren’t exactly thrilling to beat.
