NFL Quarterback Club 2 on Game Boy is one of those sports games that somehow makes tiny sprites feel like real football. You pick your QB—Troy Aikman, Steve Young, whoever—and suddenly you're scrambling in the pocket, trying not to get sacked by pixelated linebackers twice your size.
The playbook’s simple but smart, and after a few snaps, you start figuring out which receivers break open late. Hail Marys actually work sometimes, which is either hilariously unrealistic or exactly what you need in the final seconds. The running game’s a bit stiff, but hey, it’s a Game Boy football game—you’re here for the deep passes anyway.
It’s not Madden, but for a handheld game from the ‘90s, it nails that "one more drive" feeling. Just don’t blame me when you accidentally throw a pick trying to force it to Jerry Rice.
