NBA Jam on Game Boy is basically the arcade classic squeezed into your pocket—and somehow, it still feels wild. You’ve got two-on-two basketball with all the ridiculous dunks, shoving matches, and that announcer yelling "BOOMSHAKALAKA" when you catch fire. The controls are simple (just two buttons and the D-pad), but pulling off alley-oops or blocking a shot last second feels way more satisfying than it has any right to on this tiny screen.
The roster’s stacked with 90s legends—I always went for Barkley and Jordan, even if their sprites look like pixelated action figures. And yeah, the multiplayer’s a blast if you’ve got a link cable and a friend willing to endure your trash talk. Just don’t expect smooth animations; this is Game Boy, so everything’s a little choppy. But that’s part of the charm. You’ll be yelling at the screen by the second quarter.
