NBA Jam Tournament Edition on Game Boy is basically the same over-the-top arcade basketball you remember, just shrunk down for portable play. Two-on-two, ridiculous dunks, announcers yelling "BOOMSHAKALAKA"—it's all here, though obviously the graphics took a hit compared to the arcade.
They squeezed in updated rosters and a few extras like tournament mode, which is cool if you're into that. Controls are simple enough for quick matches, though good luck making precise shots on that tiny screen. Honestly, it's more fun as a nostalgia trip than a serious hoops sim, but that's what Jam always was anyway.
Still holds up if you just wanna dunk on your friends during a bus ride.
