NBA Hangtime on N64 is pure arcade basketball chaos—no sim stuff here. You pick two players (I always went with Shaq and Penny), and it’s just non-stop alley-oops, turbo boosts, and dunks so ridiculous they’d get you ejected in real life. The ‘Team Fire’ thing kicks in when you hit a few shots in a row, and suddenly your whole squad’s on fire—literally. The ball leaves a trail of flames, and the crowd goes nuts.
Character customization’s a nice touch—you can tweak stats or make some freakishly tall dude with max dunking. Plays way smoother than NBA Jam, but still has that same over-the-top energy. First time I played, I accidentally launched a half-court shot with turbo and nearly fell off the couch. Still holds up if you’re into that old-school vibe.
