Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon is one of those N64 gems that never got enough love. You play as Goemon, a goofy blue-haired ninja with a pipe, bouncing around feudal Japan with this weird mix of platforming, brawling, and occasional giant robot fights—yes, really. The humor’s totally over-the-top, like bad dubs of old anime, and the levels are packed with hidden stuff if you poke around. First time I played, I spent way too long just messing with the villagers’ reactions—they’ll straight-up panic if you start swinging your pipe indoors.
It’s got that classic N64 jank—some camera struggles, a few awkward jumps—but the charm totally carries it. The music’s a banger too, especially when you hop in that ridiculous giant robot and the vocals kick in. If you’re into weird, personality-heavy action games, this one’s a blast.
