Mystic Quest (or Final Fantasy Adventure if you're in the US) is this weird little Game Boy gem that somehow blends Zelda-style combat with Final Fantasy vibes. You run around slashing bushes for hidden items, whacking monsters with swords, and occasionally stumbling into towns where the dialogue feels straight out of an early FF game.

The combat's janky in that charming 1991 way—your sword swings in wide arcs, and sometimes you'll get stuck on corners while skeletons chase you. But there's something addictive about uncovering the next area or finding a new weapon type (axes feel oddly satisfying to swing).

Fun fact: This was actually the first Seiken Densetsu game, though nobody realized it'd spawn the whole Mana series later. The EU version got stuck with the "Mystic Quest" name, probably to avoid confusion with some other RPGs floating around at the time.
