About Mr Nutz
Mr Nutz on the Game Boy came out in 1994 from Ocean Software. It was part of that wave of platformers that filled the portable's library, a time when you could find a character for almost any concept. This one featured a squirrel with a big tail, a straightforward setup for the kind of action you expected to find on the small screen.
You control Mr Nutz, a squirrel who runs, jumps, and uses his tail to attack enemies by spinning it around. The main goal is to navigate through levels, fighting foes and avoiding environmental hazards to progress. Key mechanics include screen by screen exploration, where each new area loads as you move, and collecting acorns scattered throughout the stages. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with precise jumps and enemy placements. It feels like a quick, challenging test of your reflexes and memory for level layouts.
