Mr. Gono No Baken Game

Okay, so Mr. Gono No Baken is one of those weird little Game Boy games that somehow sticks with you. At first glance, it’s just another pixelated platformer—until you realize how bizarrely charming it is. You’re bouncing around these cramped, colorful levels, dodging enemies that look like they escaped from a fever dream, and grabbing these tiny power-ups that barely make sense (why does a floating sushi roll give me extra jumps?).
The music’s got that classic Game Boy chiptune crackle, the kind that burrows into your brain whether you want it to or not. And yeah, it’s tough—some jumps feel downright unfair until you memorize the level layouts. But there’s something about the janky physics and Mr. Gono’s weird little sprint animation that makes failing kinda fun.
If you’ve got a soft spot for obscure retro games that don’t take themselves seriously, this one’s a trip. Just don’t throw your Game Boy across the room when you miss that one jump for the tenth time.
