About Mr. Gimmick
Mr. Gimmick came out in 1992 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed and published by Sunsoft. It arrived late in the NES lifecycle, a time when developers were pushing the hardware with more complex visuals and sound.
You control a small green creature named Yumetaro, navigating screen by screen across platforms and past enemies. Your main goal is to rescue a child's lost toy by completing each stage. You can jump on enemies or use your primary weapon, a star that you toss; it arcs through the air and can ricochet off surfaces, allowing you to hit foes from tricky angles. The game is known for its demanding platforming, requiring precise jumps and careful use of your star to clear obstacles and defeat bosses.
