Man, Mr. Do! on Game Boy takes me back. You’re this little clown dude with a shovel, digging tunnels while these weird purple monsters chase you. At first, it seems simple—just dig and grab cherries—but then you realize you can drop apples on enemies or trick them into running into your power ball. The music’s got that classic bleep-bloop charm, and the levels get seriously tense when you’re cornered with three monsters closing in.
What I love is how it makes you think on your feet. Do you go for the high score by collecting all the letters, or play it safe and just survive? The controls are tight, and even though it’s from the arcade era, it doesn’t feel clunky. Just don’t get too greedy digging near the edges—those monsters are faster than they look.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro games that actually hold up, this one’s a blast.
