About Monsters Truck Rally
Monster Truck Rally came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by INTV Corporation. It was one of those many vehicle games from the late 80s that tried to capture the spectacle of big trucks on a small screen.
You control a monster truck from an overhead view, racing against computer opponents or a friend on split-screen tracks. The main goal is to finish with the highest score, which you earn not just by winning the race but also by completing side challenges. You pull a heavy sled for distance in one event, and in another you drive over rows of cars to crush them. The physics feel loose, making the truck slide around corners, and the game can be surprisingly difficult to master. It feels like a chaotic, noisy afternoon at a county fair.
