Momotarou Dengeki 2 is one of those weird little Game Boy gems that never made it outside Japan. It's a quirky action-RPG where you play as the peach boy Momotarou, smacking demons with a wooden mallet while recruiting animal allies along the way. The combat's simple but satisfying—you'll be bouncing between sword swings and magic attacks while your animal pals chip in with their own moves.
What really sticks with me is how bizarrely charming it is. One minute you're fighting onion-headed demons, the next you're recruiting a dog who fights by... peeing on enemies? Yeah, it's that kind of game. The pixel art has that classic early 90s Game Boy vibe—chunky but full of personality.
Fair warning though, unless you read Japanese, you'll be guessing through menus. But honestly, half the fun is figuring out what the heck that floating turnip enemy is supposed to be. If you're into obscure retro RPGs with more weirdness than balance, this one's a trip.
