Momotarou Collection 2 (japan) Game

Momotarou Collection 2 is one of those classic Game Boy RPGs that never made it outside Japan, which is a shame because it’s got that weird, charming vibe only '90s Japanese games pull off. You start off with Momotarou—y’know, the peach boy from the folktale—but instead of fighting demons with animal pals, you’re recruiting a whole squad of quirky characters, each with their own weird little attacks.
The battles are turn-based but faster than you’d expect, and the sprites are surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy game. At first, I had no idea who to pick for my team—some characters just look like random villagers, but then they whip out a move like “Radish Slap” and suddenly they’re your favorite. The music’s got that classic chiptune energy too, all bouncy and upbeat.
It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but there’s something oddly satisfying about grinding through battles with a team of misfits. If you’re into obscure retro stuff, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
