Momotarou Collection 2 is one of those Game Boy titles that feels like digging through an old toy box—simple, charming, and packed with little surprises. You start off picking from a handful of mini-games, each with that unmistakable 90s handheld vibe. Some are quick reflex tests, others feel like tiny board games, but they all have this playful take on Japanese folktales.
At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect—some of the games are dead simple, but there’s a weirdly satisfying rhythm to them. One minute you’re rolling dice with a cartoonish demon, the next you’re guiding Momotarou through a tile-matching puzzle. It’s not deep, but there’s something cozy about how uncomplicated it all is.
If you’ve got nostalgia for the era of chunky pixels and tinny sound effects, this one’s a nice little time capsule. Just don’t go in expecting a sprawling adventure—it’s more like flipping through a book of short, quirky arcade bites.
