Mogu Mogu Gombo is one of those weird little Game Boy puzzlers that somehow sticks with you. You control this stretchy, gooey blob thing (the "Gombo") and have to navigate mazes by elongating its body to reach the exit. Sounds simple, but the levels get devious fast—some paths crumble under you, others loop around in ways that make your brain hurt.

What I love is how tactile it feels for a monochrome Game Boy game. You really get the sense of the Gombo squishing and stretching, and the chunky sound effects sell it even more. First time I played, I kept getting stuck on this one level where you have to time your stretch just right between moving platforms. Took me way too many tries to figure it out.

If you're into retro puzzle games with personality, this one's a hidden gem. Just don't blame me when you start seeing stretchy blobs in your dreams.
