Mizushima Shinji No Dai Koushien is one of those old-school NES baseball games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this weirdly addictive rhythm to it. You’re not just swinging bats; you’re managing a high school team, picking lineups, and trying not to whiff every fastball (trust me, it’s harder than it looks). The pixelated crowds even cheer like they actually care.
It’s definitely rough around the edges—some of the menus feel like they were translated with a dictionary—but there’s something charming about how seriously it takes its little baseball drama. If you’ve ever wanted to experience 80s Japanese high school sports nostalgia, this is your ticket.
