About Mitsume Gatooru
Mitsume Ga Tooru came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed and published by Natsume. It was part of that wave of late NES titles that felt more ambitious, games that were trying to do something a little different within the hardware's familiar constraints.
You control a boy named Takuro, who wields a magical bow. Your main goal is to explore a large, interconnected world, screen by screen, to defeat an evil entity. The core loop involves navigating maze-like areas, fighting monsters with your bow, and delving into dungeons to collect three sacred orbs. Your bow can be charged for a more powerful shot, a mechanic that becomes essential for dealing with tougher enemies and bosses. The game has a deliberate pace; you need to methodically search each area, and the difficulty is unrelenting, demanding precise movement and attack timing. Playing it feels like a constant, tense puzzle where every new screen could hide a necessary secret or a sudden ambush.
