I remember playing Missile Command on my Game Boy around 1992. It was published by Atari Corporation, and it felt like a natural fit for the handheld, a portable version of a game many already knew from arcades and home consoles. In that era, having a faithful adaptation of a straightforward arcade game in your pocket was a solid proposition.

You control a crosshair with the D-pad, moving it across the sky to aim your anti-missile batteries. Your main job is to protect six cities at the bottom of the screen from being wiped out by an endless wave of incoming missiles. You fire your own counter-missiles with the A button, trying to intercept the enemy warheads before they hit. The key mechanics are managing your limited ammunition and using smart bombs, which clear the entire screen of threats but are in very short supply. The pace is relentless; the missiles come faster and in more complex patterns as you progress. It feels tense and demanding, a constant race against the clock where a single mistake can cost you a city.
