About Mini Putt (japan)
Mini Putt (Japan) was a 1990 Game Boy release from publisher Coconuts Japan. It arrived early in the system's life, a time when portable sports and puzzle games were common. This title fit right in, offering a pocket sized version of miniature golf.
You control a golf ball, using the D pad to aim and a button to set your shot power. The main goal is to sink the ball in the hole on each screen based course with the fewest strokes. Signature mechanics include navigating multi screen holes where you move from one section to the next, and dealing with obstacles like bumpers and narrow pathways that deflect your ball. The game's pacing is deliberate, as a single miscalculation can add several strokes, making consistency more important than speed. It feels like a patient, sometimes frustrating test of your ability to judge angles and force.
