Ever played Minesweeper but wished it had a little more... Japan? This obscure Game Boy version, Minesweeper - Soukaitei, throws in some weirdly charming pixel art and a soundtrack that sounds like a fax machine having an existential crisis.
Same classic grid-based bomb hunting, but now with kanji numbers and this oddly satisfying "click" sound when you flag a tile. Took me a few tries to realize the mines are shaped like tiny skulls—kinda cute for something that blows you up. Pro tip: the music gets faster when you're close to losing, which is either genius or cruel, depending on how bad you are at math.
Still the same frantic "oh god was that the wrong square?" panic we all know and love. Just with more 8-bit vibes.
