About Migrain (japan)
Migrain is a Japan only Game Boy release from 1990, developed by Atelier Double and published by Coconuts Japan. It appeared during a period when the handheld was becoming a home for experimental puzzle games, offering a different kind of challenge from the typical action titles.
You control a small character navigating a single screen maze filled with blocks. Your objective is to clear each stage by pushing every block off the edge of the playfield. The core mechanics involve sliding blocks, which can only move in straight lines until they hit a wall or another object, and careful planning, as a single misplaced push can create an unsolvable deadlock. The game demands methodical thinking, with a difficulty that escalates as the layouts become more intricate. It feels like untangling a knot in your mind with every successful stage.
