Migrain Game

Migrain on Game Boy is one of those weird little gems that somehow sticks with you. The pixel art has this grungy, hand-drawn charm—like someone scribbled it in the margins of a school notebook—and the music’s got that crunchy synth sound only old Game Boy carts can pull off.
You start off controlling this little dude with a throbbing headache (hence the name, I guess?), dodging floating pills and weird enemies shaped like alarm clocks. The first few levels ease you in, but by stage 3, the screen starts pulsing with these migraine-inducing flashes, and suddenly you’re jumping between platforms while everything flickers. It’s equal parts frustrating and weirdly satisfying when you finally nail the timing.
Honestly, half the fun is just seeing what bizarre hazard they throw at you next. One level, you’re avoiding falling coffee cups; the next, the entire screen tilts sideways. It’s janky in that classic Game Boy way, but that’s part of the appeal. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro oddities, this one’s worth dusting off the old handheld for.
