Mighty Bomb Jack came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1986, developed and published by Tecmo. It was part of that wave of early NES platformers that often favored a unique, sometimes unforgiving, design over straightforward action.

You control Jack, a character who runs and jumps through a series of single-screen rooms inside a pyramid. Your main goal is to collect every bomb in a room to unlock the exit, while avoiding enemies and traps. Two mechanics define the game: Jack can perform a high, floating jump by holding the button, and he can collect special "P" icons to temporarily freeze all the enemies on screen.
