About Mickey Mouse Capade
Mickey Mouse Capade came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Hudson Soft and published by Capcom in the US. It was part of that wave of early platformers trying to capture a younger audience with familiar characters, a straightforward side scrolling adventure without much of the complexity found in later NES titles.
You control Mickey Mouse, with Minnie following along, through a series of themed worlds like a forest, a pirate ship, and a castle. Your main goal is to rescue a girl, Alice, who gets kidnapped. You explore screen by screen, using a limited supply of stars as a projectile weapon to defeat enemies. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can feel uneven, especially with Minnie's tendency to wander into danger. Playing it feels like a brisk, sometimes frustrating, dash through a simplified cartoon world.
