About Mezase Pachi Pro - Pachio Kun (japan)
Mezase Pachi Pro - Pachio Kun came out in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, a release from Coconuts Japan Entertainment. It was one of the earlier pachinko simulations on the console, and it introduced the character Pachio-kun, who would later appear in a few other games. This was during a time when the NES library was incredibly diverse, filled with all sorts of experiments and niche titles from Japan that never made it overseas.
You control the launch of the pachinko balls, aiming for them to fall into specific pockets and gates to trigger payouts and special modes. The main objective is to earn as many balls as possible, which then translates to a higher score. Key mechanics include navigating the pinball-like vertical board, using flippers to keep balls in play longer, and activating special stages that change the board layout or multiplier values. The game can feel quite difficult, with the physics demanding precise timing to avoid draining your balls too quickly. It feels like a straightforward, almost meditative test of patience and minor adjustments.
