I picked up Meitantei Conan: Chika Yuuenchi Satsujin Jiken back when it came out in 1994 for the Game Boy. Bandai published it, and it was one of those many licensed games that tried to capture the feel of a popular show on the handheld. It fit right in with the era's simple, screen-by-screen adventure titles.

You control Conan Edogawa, the shrunken detective, and your main goal is to solve a murder that happens at an underground amusement park. The gameplay is mostly about moving from one static screen to the next, talking to every character you meet, and picking up items that seem out of place. You have to present the correct evidence to people at the right time to trigger new dialogue or progress the story. The pacing is slow and deliberate; if you miss a clue or talk to someone in the wrong order, you can get stuck for a while. It feels like piecing together a quiet, methodical puzzle on a small green screen.
